Amy becomes a Benedetti Foundation Ambassador!
After a rigorous application process, Amy has been selected as a Benedetti Foundation Ambassador for the duration of 2025! This year-long programme gives ambassadors opportunities to develop as a teaching musician and learn from professional mentors in the industry. The Benedetti Foundation was established in 2019 by internationally renowned violinist Nicola Benedetti. More information about the Benedetti Foundation can be found via the attached link.

Amy performs in masterclass
In January 2025, Amy had the opportunity to perform the 1st movement of the Reinecke Concerto to British-Australian flautist Joshua Batty (Principal Flute of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra)!
Amy found the masterclass highly inspiring and had the chance to discuss methods related to breathing and flute anatomy.

Hoolan Ensemble make their 1st recording
In January 2025, the Hoolan Ensemble recorded Nancy Johnstone's piece 'Foreign Body' at the Fife College Recording Studio.
Nancy specifically composed this piece for Sára Ní Either's film "Foreign Body" and was performed across the UK as part of the Hoolan Ensemble tour in October 2024.

Amy is a finalist in the Liverpool Flute Academy Orchestral Audition Competition.
In August 2024, Amy attended the Liverpool Flute Academy and spent the week studying orchestral repertoire, excerpts and the Mozart Concertos with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra flautists Cormac Henry, Helen Wilson and Sameeta Gahir.
Amy attended 1:1 lessons, masterclasses, chamber rehearsals and even had the opportunity to try out some world flutes with visiting artist Eliza Marshall.
During the course, the Liverpool Flute Academy held mock orchestral auditions, and Amy was nominated a finalist by the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra flautists in the internal competition.

Amy wins London International Music Competition!
In July 2024, Amy won the London International Music Competition on Flute as part of the Virtuoso II age category. Amy has since been featured on the London International Music Competition website.

Amy joins the Hoolan Ensemble
Amy was invited to join the Hoolan Ensemble as a multi-instrumentalist. Founded by Molly Sellors and Niall Docherty, the Hoolan Ensemble will be going on tour in October 2024! They will be performing live music across the North of England and Scotland performing new music to early film to raise awareness of the forgotten women in early cinema.

In May 2024, Amy performed the Gaubert Fantasie to Gitte Marcusson (current RCM Professor) in her masterclass at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Amy passes her LRSM Diploma with Distinction
Amy sat her Licentiate Performance Diploma (LRSM) in December 2023 and passed with Distinction. This exam required her to perform 45 minutes of some of the most challenging repertoire for Flute, discuss the repertoire in high detail to the examining panel and complete a sight-reading exercise. She has received 180 credits with this Diploma.

Amy awarded prestigious scholarships
Following her successful Masters audition, Amy has been awarded the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Trust and Universal Music Sound Foundation Scholarships for the duration of her MMus studies.
